One of Florence's most fashionable
shopping streets, Borgo San Jacopo, right off the Ponte Vecchio,
is also one of the most conveniently situated. And yet since
there is no street between it and the Arno, our fourth-floor
apartment in an elevator building is amazingly peaceful.
The big plus of this apartment
is the delightful living/dining room (with single sofabed)
facing directly onto the river. Two large windows permit you
to enjoy magnificent views of the Arno and the entire Florentine
townscape, including the Ponte Vecchio itself. The room is
light, comfortable, and sophisticated.
The apartment has its negatives
which should not be underestimated: In particular, the kitchen
is a barely adequate galley-type affair with small fridge. The
bedroom is tiny; two brand-new unifiable twin beds of excellent
quality virtually fill the room. There is a telephone, but hooking
up a computer is not possible on this line. There is an internet
caf�just down the street.
No washer, but laundry down
the street.
For those who aren't going to
do heavy cooking, the Borgo San Jacopo apartment is ideal.
We have offered it for many years now, and no one has ever
been disappointed.
