Casa Meina - Lake MaggioreAccommodates 6+1 3 Bedrooms 3 Baths — Swimming Pool — Internet Casa Meina is a newly built house in a lovely panoramic position overlooking the western shores of Lake Maggiore. You’re located about halfway between Arona and Stresa, the latter being one of the lake region’s most sophisticated and sought-after destinations. While a car is definitely necessary, you can actually walk down the 800 meters or so to the village of Meina, where you’ll find restaurants, simple shops, and a delicatessen with excellent meals for take-out. Apart from the obvious boating and innumerable water sports opportunities, this is a perfect location for hiking, biking, fine dining, and just poking around charming villages and gardens open to the public like the Borromean Islands and the Villa Taranto. Milan itself is just a short train ride away. Within a very short drive are a sports club with excellent tennis courts, and several golf courses are easily accessible as well. Casa Meina is all on one level and offers generous space for 6. A group of three couples is perfect at this house. Rooms give directly out onto the grounds, and there’s a large shady terrace for romantic and convivial lunches and dinners with the lights along the lake sparkling below. All windows enjoy delightful lake views. Inside, Casa Meina is briefly described. A large living/dining room has direct access to both gardens and terrace. A beautifully designed open kitchen is fully equipped. Three equal bedrooms, each with its own en-suite or adjacent bath, have satellite TV. Casa Meina has a washing machine, dishwasher, phone for incoming and local outgoing calls, and an internet connection for your laptop via a code provided by the owner. The swimming pool is shared among the various properties in this gated development and is located about 300 feet from Casa Meina. It has a lounging area with sun beds and other comfortable seating, umbrellas, and a barbecue area. A very friendly German shepherd dog comes with the property (see photos), so dog-phobic people probably should look at a different property. Casa Meina’s friendly but unobtrusive English-speaking owner lives in the villa immediately next door and is available for help if necessary, but otherwise he leaves you alone. Downstairs from Casa Meina, and built into the hillside, is a small apartment occupied by the owner’s son on weekends only. We assure you that none of this will in no way impinge on your sense of privacy at this excellent property.
