    Accommodates 10+4 — 6+ Bedrooms — 6+ Baths
Swimming Pool —Waterfront — Private Beach — Internet

What a beautiful setting!  Villa Laveno sits right on the waterfront along the southeasternmost shore of Lago Maggiore.  It has its own private beach, plus its own private swimming pool.  Laveno, the nearest town – and boat launch – is about 15 minutes’ easy walking distance, and offers all services and amenities.  The location is quiet and enjoys lovely views over the lake.  Daytrips from here include all the sights of Lake Maggiore – Stresa, the Villa Taranto gardens, and the Borromean Islands above all – and Lakes Como and Orta are within easy reach as well, not to mention Milan itself, world-famous for the Last Supper and every shopping indulgence imaginable.

Villa Laveno was being in about 1930 for a prominent Milanese family.  It is spacious and full of a certain atmosphere.  Decor is Italian “Classic” with marble tables and patterned wallpapers.  Much of the furniture was designed and made for the villa.  Most rooms overlook the lake, and the ground-floor rooms have direct access to the estate’s gardens and terraces.

From the garden, a rather steep path of 150 steps, awkward for anyone with any sort of mobility issue, leads down to the lake and pebble beach.  Closer to the villa itself is the 6- by 14-meter swimming pool with diving board and shower.

The size (about 5000 square feet) and layout of the Villa Laveno are particularly suited to two families traveling together. On the ground floor, a spacious entrance hall leads to a double living room with marble fireplace and French doors leading out onto the garden.  The kitchen, with a table seating 12, and separate dining room, both also have French doors giving out onto the garden.  One double and one single bedroom, each with its own bath, complete this level of our villa.

Up one level are one double bedroom with its own bath, and a double and a single bedroom sharing a bath.  All these bedrooms have French doors leading out to two large terraces.
On the top floor, much more simply furnished than the rest of the villa, are one twin bedroom, two bathrooms, and, lastly, a double bedroom, normally closed, but sometimes available on special request and a modest extra charge.

Amenities: Wi-fi; dishwasher; washing machine; dryer; VCR; stereo/CD; phone for incoming and local outgoing calls.

A separate guest cottage, with its own living room, kitchen, bath, and 2 bedrooms sleeping up to 2 adults and 2 children, can be rented additionally for a larger group.
