    Accommodates 6+2 — 3 bedrooms, 2 baths
    Air Conditioning; High-speed Internet

We’re always looking for largish flats in Rome which are suitable for either 2 couples, or for larger families. We saw the Fontanella flat some years ago, when the lack of a second full bathroom kept us from putting it on our list. Now, a new owner has totally renovated the flat, adding to it a third bedroom from an adjacent apartment owned by her, as well as a second full bath. Thus, it’s completely transformed, and we’re ecstatic to be offering it to you now.

Location? Just off the Piazza del Popolo. What this means is immediate proximity to several very different but immensely attractive features, some practical, some “touristic”. As to practical stuff, both the metro and the little electric bus 117 are practically at your doorstep, not to mention several other bus lines. All shops and services are to hand as well. And speaking of shopping, you’re right off the Via del Corso, Rome’s principal shopping street, off of which are such fabled addresses as Via Condotti and Via Frattina, home to Gucci, Prada, Bulgari, Chopard, Cartier, and all the other usual suspects. Restaurants? One of our favorites, the Bolognese, favored by actors and politicians, is right on the piazza.

As to sightseeing, you’re within just a short walk of some of Rome’s most famous attractions: the Villa Borghese (for your morning run as well as for the famous Galleria Borghese), Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Ara Pacis, Castel Sant’Angelo -- even the Vatican is a pleasant stroll. For the rest, buses and taxis will serve.

La Fontanella is located on the 5th floor of an elevator building, and as soon as you enter, you get an immediate sense of airiness and light, peace and quiet. The layout is easy to describe: It’s an “L”, with the spacious living/dining room at the intersection. On the shorter leg of the “L” is a bedroom with a queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. On the longer leg are two bedrooms with joinable twin beds and a large bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, separate shower stall, and washing machine. The kitchen is fully equipped and is particularly sunny. Ceilings are high throughout the flat, and floors are parquet. Amenities include air-conditioning in living room and bedrooms; telephone; satellite TV; CD/stereo; high-speed internet connection; and access to the building’s communal roof terrace.

A lovely, sophisticated apartment in a great location.
