  • Pietro Two - Rome

    Accommodates 7 — 4 Bedrooms — 3 Baths

You'll find our Pietro Two flat in the same building as La Fontana and Pietro One. Hence, if you're several families traveling together, you can take more than one apartment and all be together in the same wonderful environment.

The neighborhood is our favorite in Rome, the ancient Jewish quarter. You're not only steps away from the Forum, the Campo dei Fiori open-air market, and the Campidoglio. You're also steps away from trams, taxis, and buses, plus all the shops and services you can imagine, including a wealth of top restaurants, family trattorie, wine shops, and coffee bars.

The apartment is on the top floor this elevator building, which is serviced by a doorman. The palazzo was built in the 16th and 17th centuries, and as soon as you walk from the street into the courtyard, there's an immediate sense of peace and of being transported to another age.

Let's be frank about Pietro Two: It's not for everyone. It's not for tall people; it's not for people with mobility issues; it's not for toddlers. Why? The layout. You enter into the living/dining room, furnished with great taste and care. The modern kitchen has dishwasher and washing machine. There's a matrimonial bedroom on this level with adjacent bath (shower over tub).

The three other bedrooms are on mezzanines, one accessed via 11 steps from the kitchen. This is a single bedroom with its own bath (shower). The main hall of the flat leads via two separate staircases to the other two mezzanine bedrooms, one a matrimonial with its own bath (shower), the other with a smaller double bed and balcony with views. This double bedroom uses the bathroom adjacent to the master bedroom on the main level. It is crucial to note that all of these mezzanine bedrooms have ceilings just barely 6 feet high. Are they claustrophobic? You think about it, and you be the judge.

The pluses of Pietro Two are undeniable: location, sleeping capacity (unusual in Rome), location, air-conditioning, location, and location. Again, it's great for families, less great for adult couples, not doable at all for toddlers or the infirm.
