San Bartolomeo - Rome

this page
Accommodates 6 3 Bedrooms
2 Baths Roof Terrace
San Bartolomeo is an incredible
rarity among weekly apartment rentals in Rome in fact,
among city vacation rentals in Italy anywhere. Its got
three real bedrooms for up to 6 people.
The location? One of our favorites
in all of Rome: the Jewish Quarter, within 5 minutes
walk of Romes synagogue, the open-air market at Campo
dei Fiori, the elegant fountains of the Piazza Farnese, and
the charming art gallery of the Palazzo Spada. The tram is
practically outside the door, as are buses running up and
down the banks of the Tiber, and dozens of bus lines originate
or pass through nearby Piazza Venezia and Largo Torre Argentina.
Restaurants and trattorie abound, including some of our favorites
like Sanpietrino, Vecchia Roma and Giggetto.
An elevator takes you up to
the American third floor of this historic 16th-century palazzo.
Upon entering, one immediately has a sense of space, light,
breatheability, and good taste. San Bartolomeos entry
hall leads directly into a dining room with table for 8, adjacent
to a living room comfortably furnished with the usual sofas
and chairs. The kitchen is spacious, light, and very well-equipped
with conventional oven and 5-burner gas stovetop, microwave,
big American-style fridge and freezer, American coffee maker,
dishwasher, and washing machine. All three bedrooms are twin,
two joinable as matrimonials. One bedroom has an en-suite
bath with shower over tub. The other two bedrooms share a
bath with shower only. Two of the bedrooms are master
bedrooms; the third is significantly smaller and really good
for children.
San Bartolomeo has phone, computer
hookup, and satellite TV, and domestic help is available,
even a cook. The two principal bedrooms have air-conditioning
units. And to top it all off, theres also access via
elevator or stairs to the palazzos roof terrace with
gorgeous views of Rome and the surroundings hills as far out
as Castel Gandolfo. Rarely do the buildings permanent residents
take advantage of this terrace; hence, youll almost
certainly have it to yourselves if you decide to come up one
evening for drinks or a picnic.
