Casale Furetta is a delightful,
Umbrian stone country house, renovated in the traditional
manner with exposed beams, terracotta floors, and all the
conveniences of modern living. Well furnished with old family
pieces and all appliances.
It is located in the country,
on the southern hill facing Todi, with a splendid view of
town and the surrounding farmland. An excellent country lane
leads to a completely independent, private, quiet and peaceful
property. A car is a must.
The upper floor of Furetta has
an external staircase with porch, spacious living room with
view to Todi, kitchen-dining master bedroom with queen bed
and bath en suite with shower, queen bedroom and twin bedroom,
sharing a bath with tub.
The lower floor has a sitting
room-kitchenette, bedroom with queen bed, bedroom with twin
beds and bath with oversize shower. There is also a summer
kitchen cum laundry, extra refrigerator and stove, an airy
portico with trestle table for al fresco meals, leading out
to the tended garden and private pool with paving, shower,
poolside furniture.
At Casale Furetta there is a
detailed House Guide with the workings of the house, all the
telephone numbers you could need, from owner to housekeeper,
owner’s Todi-based representative; recommended restaurants,
wines to taste, sights to see, activities for children, where
to go shopping, fashion outlets for cashmere, designer clothing
and shoes. Available on request: crib, baby linens, high chair.
Activities: In the hamlet of
Pontenaia, 2 minutes by car: coffee bar, basic grocery, great
restaurant, sports center with tennis courts, running track.
Short drive to riding, fishing. Todi tennis club, golf courses
at Perugia.
Furetta is a 7-minute drive
to Todi and the village of Ponterio, with shops ranging from
supermarkets to clothing, wine shops, art supplies, ceramics,
internet cafés, and even the International Herald Tribune
on the newsstands.
Day trips from Furetta: Perugia,
Assisi, Orvieto and also Rome and Tuscany. The Todi area offers
many restaurants, ranging from the best in Umbrian haute cuisine
at Lake Corbara to restaurants in ancient castles, family-managed
trattorie, pizzerie and snack shops in town and scattered
in the small villages and towns around the countryside.
Summer festivals in Umbria:
Spoleto, Umbria Jazz, Todi Art Festival, Perugia Classical
Music, Gubbio Concerts, and countless others.
