Podere Sagna - Chianti

Podere Sagna lies in the heart of Chianti Classico, a short distance south of Castellina. The property is surrounded by trees, vineyards, and lots of tranquility. The Swiss owners, who live on the property, have furnished it to a high standard. Each of the accommodations at Podere Sagna is fresh and tasteful. Kitchens are modern and fully equipped. All baths have two sinks, in the Swiss style. Terracotta floors are covered by Oriental rugs throughout, and there are some excellent wooden bureaus, dressers, and armoires from the owners' families. A very nice swimming pool lies at the center of the estate.

All units feature a small clothes washer, and housekeeping/laundry services can be arranged. A phone for both incoming and outgoing calls has been installed in each of the accommodations. You can place a call whenever you want, but the owners must be present on the estate for you to receive a call, as it's a switchboard system. If you need to be reached 24 hours a day, you should definitely rent a cell phone, and for faxes and internet access, you should plan to make the excellent internet café in Castellina, just down the road, your first stop each morning.

Considering the dramatically inflated prices in effect now in Tuscany, we feel that those for Podere Sagna are particularly attractive, especially given the high standard of the accommodations.

Capanna
Accommodates 4 — 2 Bedrooms — 2 Baths

Charming free-standing cottage across from the pool and main house. Luminous sitting room with big arched windows. Modern kitchen/dining room with fireplace. Two equal bedrooms, each with joinable twin beds. One bathroom with tub and shower, the other with shower only.

Torre
Accommodates 5 — 3 Bedrooms — 3 Baths

Large, characterful two-story tower sitting over the main house. Smallish living room. Two equal bedrooms, each with unifiable twin beds. Charming single bedroom with its own bath. Private garden area. Excellent for two couples or a family.

Bellavista
Accommodates 2 — 1 Bedroom — 1 Bath

Comfortable and light, this unit is perfect for a couple. One double bedroom with full bath. Spacious and breezy, the open-plan living/dining room opens onto a good kitchen area. Private patio.
