The owner of our San
Simeon and Corte Moretta
flats has yet again come through for us. We’re talking
now about a very pleasant flat for families or for 3 adults
traveling together. It is particularly light and looks out
over the private walled garden of an adjoining palazzo. The
location is again typically Venetian, on the San Polo side
of the Grand Canal, full of real Venetians. The nearest vaporetto
stop is San Silvestro, a 1-minute walk without intervening
bridges (a real plus when wheeling luggage). From here, you
can get easily by vaporetto to either San Marco or
the station, or even faster if you walk a bit further to the
express vaporetto stops at the Rialto Bridge where
you’ll also be able to browse Venice’s famous fish
market. You’re also a short walk from our favorite public
space in all Venice: Campo San Polo, where we ourselves have
whiled away many a pleasant afternoon.
Malvasia is easy to describe:
32 fairly easy steps lead up to the Italian second floor and
directly into the apartment’s living/dining room. Then,
there are a kitchen (actually along one wall of the living
room); bedroom with an indivisible matrimonial bed; smaller
single bedroom with trundle bed tucked away underneath (suitable
for a child); bath with shower. The apartment has both a phone
and a small washing machine. Our owner is one of Venice’s
most prominent furniture restorers, and so the Malvasia flat
is furnished with his usual excellent taste.
We are offering the Malvasia
flat at an extremely reasonable price for Venice so that the
greatest number of people will take advantage of it right
